SANCTUARY

Introducing Sanctuary, one of the first live cosmic guidance app. Inspired by pulp paperbacks and space race curiosity, I crafted a bold, playful brand identity and user-friendly app that helped Sanctuary become Apple’s App of the Day four times, scale to 1.5M+ organic followers, and land features in Vogue, The New York Times, and more.

BRAND IDENTITY

While working on the brand, one of the most important values for founder Busayo was representing her Nigerian heritage. To embrace this, we crafted a graphic secondary mark highlighting the unique O in Busayo. The duel accent marks on the “O” represent the native language and Nigerian culture. We were also honored to create a custom pattern as part of the brand that’s reminiscent of the adìrẹ textile dyeing process.

WEBSITE DESIGN

The rich color palette was inspired by the land and culture of Nigeria. Colors like a rich indigo blue, same as the dye often used in the Àdìrẹ process, gold for the sand and sun, an ocean blue, and a dark green striped with an ivory white reminiscent of the Nigerian flag, create a distinctive and bold expressive brand.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. And hopefully this falls onto a second line.
